Special Batches For IBPS PO

Special Batches For IBPS PO

The first step to getting into the banking industry is Probationary Office (PO). The career of a Probationary office starts at the trainee level in the Junior Management Grade Scale (JMGS) of the bank where they can turn into a professional and reach the highest levels, becoming a General Manager, an Executive Director or even the Chairman of the Bank.

To recruit employees for the post of PO, nationalized as well as private banks carry out their separate examinations. Each bank has a different selection criterion and eligibility factors but all of them follow a common recruitment procedure.

For those seeking a career in the booming banking industry of today, the common written exam conducted by Institute of Banking Personnel selection or IBPS is one of the most crucial exams to get them through. The Common Written Exam is the first step in every banking aspirant to get job for positions like, Bank Probationary Officers, Clerks, Management Trainees and Specialist officers, for 19 Regional Rural banks and Public Sector banks. Leading banks of the country like Corporation Bank, Bank of Baroda, Union Bank of India, etc. recruit new employees on the basis of this test.

The competent authority holds a two-tier examination for recruitment of PO/MT and Clerks from CWE-V onwards i.e.(TIER I and TIER II).Once a candidate successfully clears the CWE PO/MT-V and CWE CLERK-V, he/she will be then later called for Preliminary Examinations. Preliminary examination is conducted to shortlist the most deserving candidates from those who cleared the CWE. The candidates who have been shortlisted in the Preliminary examination will then have to appear for the Main examination. The preliminary examination consists of much lesser question and is a short duration test. Later the final results from both Preliminary as well as Main examination will be made available to the candidates on IBPS website through the detailed notifications in due course.

However the mark a candidate obtains in the Preliminary examination are not considered for shortlisting of candidates and only the marks of the Main examination are considered for picking out candidates for interview.
